Recently stayed at the MGM while attending RETECH Show 2009. My wife and I did not enjoy the hotel. For the money we were paying we expected top of the line in comfort and service and we didn’t get either one.
The tv remote did not work, the water at night was cold for some reason and we had to take quick showers. In the morning the wate was fine. Also, the AC did not work. They came up and changed the filter, but said if it didn’t start working we would have to change rooms.
We were in Vegas for a limited time and did not want to waste time packing up and moving to another room. So we sweated it out and will never stay at the MGM again. Too large anyway, it took forever to get into and out of the hotel.

Stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel between March 2 and 5, and was I ever impressed! We were treated like gold from the second we arrived until the second we left for the airport.
The clerk that checked us in offered us a choice of rooms, including one with a view, considering it was our first visit to Vegas. We ended up in a room in the newly renovated West Wing. It was stunningly designed and comfortable, with a state of the art bathroom/vanity area.
We had 3 meals in the hotel, one at Diego, one at Seablue, and one at the Studio Cafe, and all were superb! It was exciting to wake up every day and decide which part of the hotel we were going to check out next, in addition to exploring the rest of The Strip.
The location was fantastic, the convenience of having both the monorail and The Deuce bus line right at our doorstep was great, and the selection of places to eat and shows to see pretty much guarantee that I will stay there again. Kudos to the staff, too – everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming.
