Had to take a cab down to the strip, but the pool is excellent! The casino is small but (obviously) convenient! There is a great nightclub and the restaurants were pretty good.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Hard Rock. I love the casino, and how the bar is in the middle, and I really love the Hard Rock Cafe located away from the main hotel, by the large neon guitar. However, I hate the off strip location (not close to monorail), and how dated and dull the rooms seem these days. The best part of the room is the bathroom in my opinion. The bathrooms are small, but I really like how the chrome, black and white colors. The next best thing about the rooms is that you can actually open up the windows to get some fresh air! Love it! Unfortunately, if you don’t have a room over looking the pool, your views are really kinda boring. The rooms with the pool views are much more expensive because that view is pretty great with the strip hotels in the background! If you want to be off the strip, it’s not a bad place, but the Hard Rock isn’t my first choice these days.

I am a local Las Vegan. My brother visits from Chicago 3-4 times per year. He will only stay @ the RIO. Last visit was a few weeks ago. We stayed on the 14th floor this time, nice view of pool area. Room was quiet, clean & comfortable. The ‘Carnival’ buffet is one of the finest in Las Vegas, if not the best at any cost. The free ’show in the sky’ is fabulous and is as entertaining as some shows I’ve paid $100 to see. We will stay here again & I reccommend it to all my out of state friends. Two thumbs up and 5 stars.
