If the saying goes that all you need is a place to shower + rest your head is true, then the Castle fits the bill. Built in the early 90s, this great themed hotel + casino may have entertained the throngs of the people when it first opened, but now with all the newer properties around her, the Excalibur shows her age. Our room was tidy, but had stains. The view out to the strip was marred with finger/face prints. Bed was acceptable, as well as bathroom. But if you're staying in your room for Las Vegas, you'll need a different property or you really shouldn't be in Las Vegas.

I ate at the former 24-hour Sherwood Forest Cafe. Former because it now closes at 2a. Still great food and service as I remember it. Staff are friendly, as with any MGM Mirage property. I thank the internet specials from MGM Mirage to get me a decent room rate during the 2nd weekend of March Madness.
